Chinoiserie. The evolution of the oriental style in Italy from the 14th to the 19th century

Concentrating his study on the 18th century, Francesco Morena has been able to fully analyse the many different forms of chinoiserie in Italy, presenting not only the most important interiors still in existence in the former royal palaces, but also the entire and vast range of furnishings – laquer, porcelain, majolica, glass and fabrics – which Europe’s sovereigns and sholarly collectors competed to acquire.
